AMPYR Distributed Energy (ADE) has secured €170 million of debt facilities from existing funding partners Crédit Agricole CIB and Franklin Templeton’s private credit manager Benefit Street Partners (BSP), further strengthening the company’s funding platform to support continued expansion across Europe.

The enhanced facilities provide additional capital to fund both strategic acquisitions and the continued deployment of distributed renewable energy assets, reinforcing ADE’s ambition to become one of Europe’s leading distributed energy platforms.

The announcement follows ADE’s recent acquisition of a 70MW European portfolio from TotalEnergies, marking another important milestone in the company’s rapid European growth.

By combining competitive capital with in-house expertise, ADE funds, owns and operates onsite renewable energy infrastructure for commercial and industrial organisations through long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), enabling customers to benefit from lower energy costs, greater resilience and reduced emissions without upfront investment.

John Behan, Chief Executive Officer of AMPYR Distributed Energy, said:

“This financing represents another significant milestone in our growth journey and demonstrates the continued confidence that Crédit Agricole CIB and Franklin Templeton’s BSP have in our strategy, our team and our long-term vision.

“Following the recent expansion of our operational portfolio across Europe, strengthening our funding platform ensures we have the capital and flexibility to continue investing at pace. It enables us to move quickly when opportunities arise and reinforces our ambition to build one of Europe’s leading distributed energy platforms.

“Demand for onsite energy continues to grow as businesses look for greater certainty, resilience and control over their energy costs. With the backing of our funding partners, we’re well positioned to help more organisations turn energy into a long-term strategic asset.”

Jerome Michel, head of Securitisation Clean Energy & Special Situation at Crédit Agricole CIB, said:

“We are pleased to reassert our confidence in the ADE team through this Pan-European securitization warehouse facility. Similar to the UK transaction closed last year, this financing was arranged by our Distributed Generation (“DGEN”) team that combines Project Finance and Securitisation expertise to provide efficient and flexible financings well suited to the C&I solar sector. The ADE team has demonstrated its capacity to develop and acquire high-quality C&I solar projects and we are now looking forward to seeing its footprint further grow in some of our core markets.”

Will Devenney, Head of Infrastructure Debt at Franklin Templeton’s BSP, said:

“We are delighted to continue supporting ADE’s growth and future expansion in Europe. This is a particularly compelling and mature infrastructure market – with huge investment need supported by robust government support and frameworks, and long-term contracts. There are a number of mega themes including decarbonisation and security of energy supply playing out across Europe, which provide a robust pipeline of investment opportunities.

“The transaction reflects the complexity we like to embrace – analysing a large and diverse portfolio of assets, including Europe’s largest floating solar project dedicated to industrial self-consumption, all as part of a critical M&A process.

“We are seeing significant momentum for infrastructure investing more generally, as investors with larger portfolios look for diversification that has proven resilience through periods of economic stress. Core features of real asset investing like cash flow stability, lower risk of defaults, and high recovery rates are all appealing.”

The additional funding ensures ADE is well positioned to continue investing at pace, enabling more commercial and industrial organisations to access fully funded onsite energy solutions that reduce costs, improve resilience and accelerate decarbonisation.
