WHAT ARE POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENTS (PPAs)?

PPAs make it easy to go green - no upfront cost and long term peace of mind

  • 01

Installation of onsite energy assets such as solar panels provide energy security, removing grid costs and the risk of volatile energy markets – your PPA will set the fixed rates for the energy you use from the system for the duration of your contract, offering peace of mind.

We will install and maintain the asset – meaning no additional costs or operational requirements for the lifetime of the PPA. After the PPA term (typically 25 years) the asset will be transferred to your business to continue benefiting from the energy it produces.

Your questions answered

  • What is the payback period?

Customers signing up to a Power Purchase Agreement benefit from cost savings from the first day of solar operation without any upfront costs. This means you could reduce your energy bills within just 2-3 months of agreeing contracts.

  • What happens if there is an issue with my panels once installed?

We maintain the solar panels and fix any issues. We remotely monitor performance, and we will often resolve a problem before you are aware of it. We are responsible for maximising the energy produced by the panels and the PPA underpins our long-term commitment to the performance of the system.

  • Will I have to change energy supplier?

There is no need to change your utility provider as part of your commercial solar installation. Your solar panels will be connected directly to your onsite electricity consumption, you will continue to buy your additional energy needs from your normal utility provider.

  • Is my roof space suitable for solar panels?

Most roofs are suitable for solar – they don’t have to be south facing. We install on commercial sites with a wide range of different buildings. Well carry out a structural report as part of our design review so we can offer recommendations which may include the option for structural changes being included within your Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
