Christian Bischoff appointed as Head of Business Development, Germany

AMPYR Distributed Energy (ADE), a leading investor in onsite renewable energy solutions, has announced the appointment of Christian Bischoff as Head of Business Development, Germany. Further accelerating the company’s European expansion, the move demonstrates ADE’s ambition of leading the commercial and industrial (C&I) marketplace.

With more than 35 years’ experience in project management, corporate PPA strategy and renewable energy deployment, Bischoff brings a proven track record spanning more than 400 infrastructure and energy contracts. With in-depth knowledge of the key challenges facing C&I businesses, alongside a deep knowledge of key regulatory frameworks (including EnWG, EEG and BauGB), Bischoff is well placed to support ADE’s German operations.

Bischoff has held numerous c-level roles in the energy sector. Having joined ADE from EDP Germany, where he led the business development department, Bischoff has also developed tailored energy solutions for major energy users during his tenure at Better4Nature.

Scaling ADE across Germany

At ADE, he will play a driving role in scaling the company’s distributed energy offering across Germany, supporting its mission to decarbonise C&I real estate through fully funded rooftop solar, wind, battery storage and private wire PPA structures. Alongside leading strategic origination and project execution, Bischoff will be responsible for client engagement across the region.

“I’m looking forward to joining ADE’s mission-driven team,” said Bischoff. “While Germany’s industrial clients are under significant cost pressures and climate obligations, we have the expertise, structure and momentum to deliver immediate cost savings and long-term energy independence.”

Bischoff’s appointment follows ADE’s recent expansion into Germany, led by Managing Director Nick Koidl. The business has already contracted more than 50MW of renewable capacity across 50 UK sites and is now deploying the same zero-capex model to help German businesses benefit from stable, clean, and cost-effective energy solutions.

“Christian is one of the most experienced professionals in Germany’s distributed energy space,” added Koidl. “His expertise in corporate PPAs and deep-rooted industry network will supercharge both our pipeline and impact. We’re delighted to have him on board.”
